If you would like to drop a player from your roster in NFL dynasty, you must follow these rules.
Any player that started on your original corresponding roster at the beginning of this league (June 2010) may be released into Free Agency without consequence the day before the season starts. Which is September 8th, 2010. The deadline is on midnight on this day (Sept. 8). This will only happen during the first year of NFL dynasty. So dropping a player before this date will cost you nothing in salary cap hit or money owed to player. This is to represent training camp and the offseason. After the 8th of September 2010, if you drop a player you will owe him 50% of his annual salary for that remaining contract year. And then 25% of his annual salary, every year for the remainder of his contract. This is called the 50/25 rule and will be referred to often when you drop a player.
To drop a player, place his name in the dropped players thread under the free agency board. This goes for a all dropped players. NO EXCEPTIONS, IF YOU FORGOT TO DO IT, I WILL HURT YOU. Because at the end of the season i will make a list of all dropped players that can be bid on in free agency. In the Dropped player thread, please include the following:
player name
position
Contract numbers including : Full contract, 50% of the that years annual salary, and 25% of the remaining years annual salary, so i and the lms can have a full breakdown of what you owe that player. REMEMBER DO THIS OR I WILL HURT YOU.
Also REMEMBER THE 50/25 RULES.
For signed free agents:
Added = the day FA opened.
Any player won via FA auction will not be dropped for the first year of the contract you give him. This is for multiple reasons.
1 - Anyone who raises bids just for fun could get stuck with that player they didnt really want
2 - Anyone with a joke in mind of making up a player name and bidding on him in hopes of someone winning the auction could get stuck with a lossed roster spot
3 - Anyone deciding to bid on 15 FA's will have to keep them all and drop rostered players, so choose wisely.
Suck it. You get T.O. for 30 million - you get to keep him. Enjoy.
These are the dropped players rules.
